VAN DUZEN SALMON WATCH PROJECT Greetings,
fellow neighbors and friends along the beautiful Van Duzen River. On Saturday, Nov. 5th, the 1st run of salmon came up the Van Duzen heading to Bridgeville. Did you see them? With Salmon Tales, you can tell your tale of witnessing the salmon migration or the salmon spawning. Take some pictures. Write down your experience on this piece of paper or on the computer, give it to your teacher, and send it to Friends of the Van Duzen. Send your pictures to our Salmon Watch Web Site. Take it to school for extra credit. Send a written copy to Friends of the Van Duzen PO Box 315 Carlotta, Ca.95528. Send an electronic copy of your story to our web page email salmontales@fovd.org Talk to your parents and grandparents. We would be glad to here from some of the "old timers" who witnessed the salmon runs of the past. We've heard tell of people who said that they could cross the stream on the backs of salmon. Any copies of pictures out there? Contact us at 845-5828. We would love to have as many people of all ages participate. Maybe we can have a festival each year where people can tell their stories, or maybe the schools can help to make a book called Salmon Tales Van Duzen Voice. Thanks for your participation.
